OSUN ON EDGE! ADELEKE LEADS BY 19,000 VOTES AS APC’S OYEBAMIJI MOUNTS FIERCE COMEBACK
GREATRIBUNETVNEWS– WITH collation entering its final, nerve-wracking stretch, Governor Ademola Adeleke has opened up a lead, but APC challenger Bola Oyebamiji is breathing down his neck.
Results from 303 of 332 wards across the state’s 30 LGAs show Adeleke (Accord Party) polling 177,572 votes (50.5%).
Right behind him, APC’s Bola Oyebamiji has garnered 158,588 votes (45.1%)— leaving a razor-thin gap of just 18,984 votes.
Far behind in third is ADC’s Najeem Salaam with 5,917 votes.
THE NUMBERS SO FAR
The tension in Osogbo is palpable as INEC counts the last ballots:
– Registered voters: 845,100
– Accredited voters: 361,500 — 42.8% turnout
– Valid votes: 351,500
– Rejected ballots: 7,200
– Polling units reported: 43.41%
INEC says collation is now in its final stage.
Every ward is now a battlefield. Every single vote could decide who rules Osun for the next four years!
—A SECOND-TERM GAMBLE—
This election is personal for Adeleke. The incumbent walked away from the PDP months ago and pitched his tent with the Accord Party.
INEC cleared 14 parties for the contest after both PDP and Labour Party failed to field candidates.
He is running with Kola Adenusi as deputy.
Oyebamiji, former Managing Director of the National Inland Waterways Authority, is paired with Benjamin Adereti.
The stakes could not be higher. A win cements Adeleke’s defection gamble. A loss hands Osun back to the APC.

All eyes are now on the state collation centre in Osogbo.
INEC’s Returning Officer is expected to declare the final result once the remaining 29 wards submit their results.
With less than 19,000 votes separating the top two, party agents are hovering over every sheet, every figure, every calculation.
