ALAUSA HAILS REA BOSS: TWO YEARS UNDER ABBA ALIYU OUTSHINES ENTIRE PAST DECADE

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–THE Minister of Education, Dr. Tunji Alausa, has commended the Managing Director of the Rural Electrification Agency (REA), Abba Aliyu, for his transformational leadership.
Speaking at the launch of the Renewable Asset Management Company (RAMCO) in Abuja on Wednesday, the Minister said the agency has witnessed unprecedented progress under Aliyu.
“We are seeing the genius in you, and the way you are managing REA is phenomenal. The proactiveness shown in the last two years exceeds what was achieved in the entire previous decade cumulatively,” Alausa stated.
He highlighted practical gains in the education sector, pointing out that the University of Abuja now operates a 3.2MW installation that provides 24-hour electricity to power uninterrupted research.
“We are witnessing a different Nigeria today,” he added.
Speaking on the broader impact of energy on education, Dr. Alausa noted that dependable power is fundamental to effective teaching, research innovation, and the overall student experience.
He emphasized that maintaining renewable energy requires technical competence, timely component replacement, effective monitoring, and clear accountability.
“The creation of RAMCO represents a necessary transition from simply deploying renewable energy assets to sustainably managing them. We expect RAMCO to bring greater professionalism and accountability to the management of these installations. We must ensure these assets continue to perform optimally, adopting a proactive rather than reactive approach,” the Minister stated.
