DOUBLE TRAGEDY: ZAMFARA LOSES SON IN CAR ACCIDENT, A DAY AFTER MOTHER’S DEATH

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–Jigawa State Governor, Umar Namadi, has suffered a devastating double blow, losing his mother, Maryam Namadi-Umar, and then his son, Abdulwahab Umar-Namadi, within a span of just 24 hours. The Governor’s mother passed away on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024, after a brief illness, and was buried the same day in the Kafin-Hausa Local Government Area.
Tragedy struck again when Abdulwahab, the Governor’s 24-year-old son, died in a car accident while on his way to pay condolences to his father over the loss of his grandmother. The vehicle he was driving collided head-on with a Volkswagen Golf car, resulting in the death of Abdulwahab and one other person .
The Governor’s spokesperson, Hamisu Gumel, announced the tragic news in a statement, saying, “With a heavy heart and total submission to the will of Almighty Allah… His Excellency Mallam Umar Namadi, Governor of Jigawa State, announces the passing of yet another member of his family; his dear son, Abdulwahab Umar Namadi”.
Abdulwahab has been buried in accordance with Islamic traditions in Kafin Hausa town, leaving behind his parents and many siblings.
