ALHASSAN YAHAYA ELECTED NEW NUJ PRESIDENT IN LANDSLIDE VICTORY

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–Comrade Alhassan Yahaya has emerged as the new president of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), defeating his closest rival, Dele Atunbi, with a significant margin.
Yahaya, the immediate past National Deputy President of the union, secured 436 votes, while Atunbi garnered 97 votes, and Mohammed Garba trailed with 39 votes .
The election took place at the 8th Triennial Delegate Conference of NUJ, held in Owerri, Imo State. Chairman of the Electoral Committee, Mike Ikeogwu, declared Yahaya the winner in the early hours of Thursday.
Yahaya, a former Gombe State Council Chairman of the NUJ, is the first NUJ President from Gombe State. He works with the Gombe State Media Corporation.
