DON’T BRING YOUR PROTEST TO LAGOS -NLC WARNS ORGANISERS

Nigeria Labour Congress, Lagos Council has issued a stern warning to organisers of #EndBadGovernance to stay away from Lagos saying workers will participate in what they are not part of its planning in line with the position of the National body of NLC position. She therefore admonished organisers to stay away from Lagos.
Chairman of the Council, Comrade Funmi Sessi who made the position of the council known yesterday said the council cannot join any protest that members were not part of its planning in line with the position of the National body of NLC position.
She warned the agitators not to bring their protest to Lagos and called on workers in Lagos to refrain from any protest and continue their work.
Comrade Sessi, however, said that according to the constitution, there is room for peaceful protest. She called on governments in Nigeria to take necessary steps to address the agitations of Nigerians, as there is hungry among the people.
The NLC Chairman called on the government to take proactive measures in addressing the problems confronting the people most especially the youths, and called on the governments to involve the youths in mechanised farming.
Comrade Sessi said farmland should be given to the youths and workers to also engage in farming
She also called on the Lagos State government to allocate some of its vast farmland to people and workers interested in farming.
