“$20 BILLION SEALED, 600,000 BARRELS ADDED — NNPC STORMS ADIPEC: NIGERIA IS BACK, AND THE WORLD IS BUYING IN”

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–“The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has sealed commercial agreements covering about $20 billion in investment across major oil and gas projects.”
Nigeria is no longer begging for energy capital. It is competing for it — and winning.
That was the message from NNPC Ltd Group Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, in Abu Dhabi.
THE ANNOUNCEMENT — ADIPEC 2026:
“Its Goup Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Bashir Bayo Ojulari, announced this on Tuesday at the 2026 Abu Dhabi International Petroleum Exhibition and Conference (ADIPEC) in Abu Dhabi, UAE.”
THE THEME — NIGERIA’S REFORM AGENDA:
“He spoke at an Energy Talk titled ‘Nigeria’s Reform Agenda: Competing for Energy Capital,’ where he also mentioned TotalEnergies’ Ubeta, Shell’s Bonga South-West and Eni’s Zabazaba as examples of renewed investor interest.”
NEW PARTNERSHIPS — ADNOC, CHINA, GLOBAL SERVICE GIANTS:
“He hinted that his company is building new relationships with partners including ADNOC and Chinese investors in the nation’s refineries, and working with global service companies to expand capacity.”
THE PRODUCTION JUMP — 600,000 BARRELS ADDED:
“According to him, the reforms have added 600,000 barrels per day to national output, raising production from about 1.2 million bpd to 1.8 million bpd.”
He tied the growth to the Petroleum Industry Act (PIA 2021), improved investment climate, better investment decisions and closer collaboration with partners.
He disclosed that the company targets 2 million bpd by 2027 by maintaining infrastructure, protecting current output, ramping up producing assets and advancing new projects.
He stated that the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) pipeline was completed in August 2026, while the Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) pipeline will deliver gas to Abuja before end of year for power, data centres and industrial hubs.
Ojulari said that NNPC eyes 10 billion standard cubic feet per day (Bcf/d) by 2027 and 12 Bcf/d by 2030, driven by domestic and export markets.
