JUST IN!! NNPC HAND OVER MEDICAL EQUIPMENT TO UNIABUJA TECAHING HOSPITAL TO COMABT COVID19
As Part of concerted efforts to combat the coronavirus pandemic in the country, the Nigeria National Petroleum Cooperation (NNPC) has handed over medical equipmetnt to the university of Abuja Teaching hospital in Gwagwalada, the Federal capital Territory.
A release by the cooperation group general manager , Group Public affairs Division,Dr Kennie Obateru at the weekend listed the equipment handed over to the University Teaching Hospital by NNPC Group Managing Director, Mallam Mele Kyari , to include: an Oxygen generating Plant;One brand New Ambulance, six NNPC Operational NNPC vehicles, One Big Ventilator, one small Ventilator, Patient Monitor, hospitakl beds, beside cupboards, overtop tables, AC, fully Automated 5 part haematology analyzer and semi automated chemistry analyzer.
Other items handed over by the NNPC helmsman to the institution are : Alert blood culture analyzer, uninterruptible power supply (UPS) device, pro express Samsung Printer, binocular microscope,table top centrifuge and pipettes.
Government cannot do this alone. Health systems, the world over, are geting overwhelmed. Countries with stronger health systems are struggling to contain the pandemic. in Light of this, the oil and gas industry is collaborating to strenghten Nigeria’s response to the pandemic. These Efforts coordinated by the Honorable Minister of State Petroleum Resources, Chief Timipre Sylva, will support Government agencies in providing urgently needed resources both human and materials required to curb this pandemic”, Mallam Kyari averred.
The NNPC donated the equipment as part of the corporation’s intervention towards the on-going fight against Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic in the country.
THE WHISTLER had reported Kyari’s announcement of the donation of the equipment by the NNPC on Friday, as well as the joint donation of N11 billion by the national oil firm and 31 other oil firms in the country to help combat the COVID-19 scourge.

While announcing the donation on Friday, Kyari had said, “Health systems, the world over, are getting overwhelmed. Countries with stronger health systems are struggling to contain the disease.
“It is obvious that to fight this menace, we all have to collaborate to ensure that Nigeria defeats the virus.”
