SUPREME COURT DISMISSES GOVERNOR FUBARA’S APPEAL AGAINST RIVERS STATE HOUSE OF ASSEMBLY

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–In a significant development, the Supreme Court has dismissed the appeal filed by Rivers State Governor Siminalayi Fubara, challenging the leadership of the Rivers State House of Assembly led by Martin Amaewhule .
The appeal was dismissed by a five-man panel led by Justice Uwani Abba-Aji, who also awarded a cost of two million naira against the governor.
The dismissal was based on the withdrawal of the suit by Fubara’s counsel, Yusuf Ali.
This decision upholds the principle of separation of powers and the independence of the legislative arm of government .
The Rivers State House of Assembly, led by Martin Amaewhule, is loyal to FCT Minister Nyesom Wike.
The appeal’s dismissal brings an end to Fubara’s challenge against the assembly’s leadership.
