
TINUBU OVERHAULS NNPC LEADERSHIP: MELE KYARI REMOVED, NEW CEO AND BOARD MEMBERS APPOINTED
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has made significant changes to the Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited board, removing Chairman Chief Pius Akinyelure and Group CEO Mallam Mele Kolo Kyari [1][2][3]. All other board members appointed alongside Akinyelure and Kyari in November 2023 have also been relieved of their duties.
The new 11-man board features:
– Engineer Bashir Bayo Ojulari as the Group CEO
– Ahmadu Musa Kida as the non-executive chairman
– Adedapo Segun, who replaced Umaru Isa Ajiya as the chief financial officer last November, as a new board member
Six non-executive directors represent the country’s geopolitical zones:
– Bello RabiuĀ (North West)
– Yusuf Usman (North East)
– Babs Omotowa (North Central), former managing director of NLNG
– Austin Avuru (South-South)
– David Ige (South West)
– Henry Obih (South East)
Additionally, *Mrs. Lydia Shehu Jafiya*, Permanent Secretary of the Federal Ministry of Finance, and *Aminu Said Ahmed* from the Ministry of Petroleum Resources will represent their respective ministries on the new board .
