
OYO STATE REVENUE BOARD CRACKS DOWN ON TAX-DODGING HOSPITALITY BUSINESSES

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–The Oyo State Board of Internal Revenue has announced plans to shut down hotels, restaurants, apartments, and other hospitality businesses that fail to pay their taxes by February 13, 2025.
The board is demanding that affected businesses settle outstanding taxes and levies, including Personal Income Tax, Land Use Charge, and Withholding Tax .
The enforcement move aims to boost revenue generation for the state and ensure compliance with tax laws.
Business owners are urged to clear their outstanding payments before the deadline to avoid disruption of operations. Additionally, the Chairman Olufemi Awakan in a statement called on those who have not yet registered for tax to do so without delay.
The Oyo State Board of Internal Revenue is responsible for assessing, collecting, and accounting for taxes, levies, and fees in the state .Its mission is to generate revenue for good governance and ensure transparency and accountability in the tax collection process .
