NNPCL REMITS RECORD-BREAKING N10 TRILLION TO FEDERATION ACCOUNT IN 2024

GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPCL) has achieved a remarkable milestone by remitting a whopping N10 trillion to the federation account as of September 2024 .
This impressive feat was disclosed by the Group Chief Executive Officer (GCEO) of NNPCL, Mele Kyari, during a presentation to the National Assembly joint committee on Finance.
Kyari emphasized that NNPCL is the only company in Nigeria that publishes 100% of its account statements annually, showcasing its commitment to transparency .
Additionally, NNPCL boasts an impressive record as the highest taxpayer in the country, as well as the highest payer of royalties and dividends.
The company has also called for a forensic audit to determine the exact amount spent on stabilizing petrol prices and ensuring uninterrupted fuel supply from January to September 2024 .
This audit is necessary to clarify the financial transactions made by NNPCL during this period.
In other developments, the Managing Director of the Nigerian Port Authority (NPA), Dr. Abubakar Dantsoho, announced that NPA remitted N753 billion into the consolidated revenue fund in 2024 and projected N997 billion for the 2025 fiscal year.
However, the National Assembly joint committee on Finance adjusted the projected revenue for 2025 upward to N1.75 trillion, aiming to maximize the 56 revenue sources available to NPA.
