GREATRIBUNETVNEWS–Senator Rabi’u Musa Kwankwaso, the 2023 presidential candidate of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) and leader of the Kwankwasiyya Movement, has lambasted Northern elders for their alleged role in hijacking the presidential election process in Nigeria.
Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State, accused some self-proclaimed northern stakeholders of imposing their preferred candidates on the region, thereby undermining democracy and perpetuating incompetence in leadership.
Speaking on BBC Hausa Service, Kwankwaso argued that this interference has led to disunity among Northerners and has hindered the region’s progress. He urged Northern elders to desist from meddling in the electoral process and instead allow the people to choose their leaders freely.
