The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd) has dismissed reports claiming that the Old Port Harcourt Refinery, which resumed operations two months ago, has been shut down. According to Olufemi O. Soneye, Chief Corporate Communications Officer, NNPC Limited, the refinery is fully operational.
In a statement released on Saturday, Soneye described the reports as “totally false” and assured that the refinery’s operational status was recently verified by former Group Managing Directors of NNPC. The statement further emphasized that preparations for the day’s loading operation were ongoing.
The NNPC has urged the public to disregard the reports, attributing them to individuals seeking to create artificial scarcity and exploit Nigerians.
