BUHARI ARRIVES DAURA AHEAD SATURDAY’S PRESIDENTIAL POLL
Muhammadu Buhari ,President Federal Republic of Nigeria, on Thursday, has arrived in his hometown, Daura, Katsina State, ahead of Saturday’s presidential and National Assembly elections.
Reports said the President arrived at the Umaru Musa Yar’adua Airport at exactly 4:41 pm, after which he took off to Daura on a white helicopter.
The President will, as usual, cast his vote in Saturday’s presidential elections at the Sarkin Yara (A) Ward, consisting of fifteen (15) polling units, in Daura Local Government Area, Katsina State.
Governor Aminu Masari of Katsina State, some members of his cabinet comprising the State Chief Judge, Justice Musa Danladi Abubakar; Commissioner of Health, Engineer Yakubu Nuhu Danja as well as heads of various security agencies were on the ground to welcome the number one citizen.
GREATRIBUNENEWS reports that a total of 18 candidates are jostling for the number one position in the country.
The presidential candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu; the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Atiku Abubakar; the presidential candidate of the Labour Party(LP), Peter Obi; the presidential candidate of the New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso are all in the race for the office of the President of Nigeria.
