UNKNOWN GUNMEN ATTACKS AIG, KILLED ORDERLY
Unknown Gunmen suspected to be terrorists on Wednesday attacked the convoy of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Zone 12 with Headquarters in Bauchi, Audu Madaki, injured him and killed one of his police guards.
It was gathered that the AIG was on his way to Abuja from Bauchi State when the suspected terrorists ambushed and attacked him.
The attack was said to have happened between Barde and Jagindi area of Bauchi at about 2.30pm on Tuesday, August 2.
A source said Madaki was shot at and injured during the attack while his orderly was shot dead
GREATRIBUNETVNEWS reports that the AIG and his entourage were on their way to the monthly conference of the Inspector General of Police, Usman Alkali Baba, and senior police officers from the rank of commissioners of police.
Top on the agenda according to a source is the security situation in the country which the IGP says is crucial to creating a pathway towards resolving these security issues in the country.
Part of the issues to be discussed is extortion and brutality by policemen, adequate protection of police barracks and formations, countering ambush attacks, as well as lectures on civility and professionalism.
