BENINOUS MATCHET FULANI HERDSMAN TO DEATH IN SAKI
Pandemonium broke out in Ayemojuba village a surburb of Saki on Monday afternoon when news broke that a BENINOUS who is now at large matcheted a Fulani herdman to death.
An eye witness account said the deceased was killed through multiple matchet cut inflicted on him allegedly by Beninous farming in the area.
The cause of the dastardly act by the farmer who are from a Benin Republic could not be ascertained as at the time of filing this report.
The eye witness however said ” The alleged farmer who is from Benin Republic ran after the deceased Nasiru Isa, a fulani boy ( aged 20) who was rearing his cows , unknown to that danger was lurking around the corner, until the Beninous caught up with him and started inflicting matchet cut on him. Efforts by the deceased to run for his dear life prove abortive as the assailant pursued him and matcheted him to death.
Alhaji Ilo Wakili, a Fulani Chieftain in Saki West local government of Oyo State while narrating the incident to GREATRIBUNETVNEWS said the young Fulani herder was carrying out his normal routine with his cows around 4pm when suddenly the alleged Beninous chased the deceased, caught up with him and matcheted to death.
Alhaji Wakili however appeal to the police to make sure that the perpetrator of the dastardly act was brought to book.
The Divisional Police officer DPO Saki Mr Toyin Eniseyin who confirmed the incident to GREATRIBUNETVNEWS said some arrest has been made and investigation is ongoing and that as soon they are through, the culprit will be charged to court.
The DPO said the corpse has been released to the deceased father, Alhaji Isa Fulani and has since been buried according to Islamic right
