Saki township road finally got a reprieve has the state Governor Engr Seyi Makinde revoked the ongoing road project that has constitute serious health challenge to indigenes even as he promised to re-award the road to a new contractor within four weeks .

According to the Nation, the Governor, who commissioned the N750milllion Saki Specialist Hospital Saki, also promised to complete at least 351 model Primary Health Centre across all the 351 wards in the state before the end of his administration.
Apparently responding and granting the request from the Okere of Saki, Oba Khalid Oyedepo, Makinde said revocation of the contract was imperative because of the health challenges the delay has caused the people of the region.

The Governor spoke at the commissioning of the Specialist hospital attended by top government functionaries, party leaders, community leaders, religious leaders among other stakeholders.
The Governor said: “You can hear from everybody that the road has been a nightmare since we came in.
“I invited the contractor, we spoke and he gave me his word that within three months we will see appreciable improvement with the level of work that has been done.
“I deliberately passed through the road today (Wednesday) and nothing appreciable has occurred.
“That contract was before we came on so we are left with no other option because we need to look after the people.
“The dust is causing big health challenges for the people of Saki and we cannot allow it to continue forever.
“Within four weeks, we will re-award the project to someone who will do better.”
The 9.7km Saki Township road was awarded in December 2016 at N8.2billion with a completion period of 18months.
